Brakes serviced to the standard of the car they stop
Mercedes-Benz braking systems — from standard to AMG composite and electro-hydraulic SBC — are engineered to tight tolerances. At our workshop in Radiofar (Surčin, Belgrade), right next to the E-75 highway, brake service strictly follows factory WIS procedures:
- OEM-quality discs and pads — ATE, Brembo, TRW, Zimmermann (original factory suppliers)
- Wear sensor replacement and indicator reset through XENTRY
- Brake fluid change with DOT 4+ to the MB 331.0 norm, boiling point measurement and machine flushing
- Specialist SBC (Sensotronic Brake Control) service — safe deactivation before work, mandatory on W211 / R230
- ADAPTIVE BRAKE service on newer generations (HOLD function, pre-charging, disc drying)
- Caliper, guide pin, boot and parking brake inspection, cleaned and lubricated with factory pastes
- Disc runout measurement with a micrometer — the cause of 90% of braking vibrations
Why OEM discs and pads, not a "universal replacement"
Cheap pads have a different friction coefficient from the one your car's ABS/ESP algorithms are calibrated for. The result: longer stopping distance, squealing, faster disc wear and overheating on long descents. ATE, Brembo, TRW and Zimmermann manufacture the brake components Mercedes packs in the original box — we fit that same quality, at a friendlier price.
SBC — a system with zero tolerance for improvisation
If you drive an E-Class W211 or SL R230, your SBC system operates at up to 160 bar and must be deactivated with the factory procedure before any brake work. Improper servicing can trigger uncontrolled activation and serious injury — or permanently damage the SBC pump, whose replacement costs more than a complete brake overhaul. Our technicians are trained in SBC procedures and use XENTRY for safe deactivation, activation and bleeding.
Brake checks for vehicles in transit — same day
Heard metallic grinding or felt vibration under braking on the E-75? Our workshop is at the Nikola Tesla Airport exit. A brake inspection takes 20 minutes, and vehicles in transit get same-day slots — call before arrival and continue your journey safe.
FAQ — brake system
When are pads and discs replaced on a Mercedes?+
Sensors trigger the light at ~3 mm of pad; discs are replaced at the minimum thickness engraved on the disc. Typically: pads 30,000–60,000 km, discs every two sets of pads. Our check takes 20 minutes.
How much does a pad replacement cost in Belgrade?+
Depends on the model and brake type (standard, AMG, SBC). We fit ATE / Brembo / TRW / Zimmermann OEM quality. Exact quote by phone: +381 60 4848758.
What is SBC and why does it need a specialist?+
An electro-hydraulic system (W211, R230) running at up to 160 bar — it must be deactivated via XENTRY before work, or uncontrolled activation threatens injury. We follow the factory procedure.
How often should brake fluid be changed?+
Every 2 years regardless of mileage — the fluid absorbs moisture and its boiling point drops. We use DOT 4+ to MB 331.0 and measure the boiling point before and after.
Steering vibrates when braking — can you check right away?+
Usually warped discs — check it soon. We are right on the E-75 at the airport exit; same-day inspection for vehicles in transit with a call ahead.
